I was actually looking for winter ducks at a pond when this Belted Kingfisher got in my way so I took his photo gave him a bit of a haircut while I was at it. There was well over 100 Ruddy Ducks in the pond that day.Next big thing to look forward to will be the Audubon Christmas counts in December. Until then, I just plan to stick to the basics.

I was lucky enough to see a Belted Kingfisher this week too, I didn't get a shot of him but I sure admired him!
They are unique looking birds. They also seem to know when you're reaching for your camera!
