Ever Had A Song Stuck In Your Head?

Have you ever heard a song on the television or radio that keeps replaying in your mind throughout the day? The urban dictionary refers to this problem as having an earworm. Can you guess what 1969 song was stuck in my head on the day I took the photos below?
A Yellow Warbler Sings........I'll try to do my best -until the fledgelings leave the nest and fly away..

In the meadow.....

A Spotted Sandpiper cries.....As the big scary man -with the camera in his hand comes walking down that dusty road....In the meadow

A whitetail lies...In the tall cool grass on a hot summer day -where the killdeer play....
In the meadow....

sound familiar?

The top photo was taken at Haley Farm State Park in Groton Connecticut. It was a beautiful place to visit and I was able to walk all the way over to Bluff Point by following along side an Amtrak rail. My favorite sightings there were a White-eyed Vireo and a Yellow-billed Cuckoo. The photos of the Yellow Warbler and Spotted Sandpiper were taken at Wangunk Meadows in Portland last weekend. I shot a video of a family of 5 Spotted Sandpipers there as they were scurrying along and bobbing their tails. Unfortunately, blogger video hasn't been working for me this week. My Canon S2IS has also been malfunctioning so I just ordered a Panasonic FZ35. Hopefully, using a new camera will help me stay interested in birding throughout the dog days of summer.

Hi Larry,
The yellow warbler picture is perfect!!! Got some nice time over there... Here the weather is not that nice... warm but no sun for pictures...

Nice pics, Larry! Good luck with your new camera! I am looking forward to seeing new photos. I have a Panasonic Lumix FZ28 - nice but took some getting used to.

Nice shots!!

An earworm. I've had that recently as a song was in my head for days. I don't even want to think of the name in case it sets me off again. LOL

Chris-could be sharper but I like that it's in the midst of singing.I've come to learn how important sun is.

Hilke-I see you work with a few cameras. The auto button will get my first consideration but I do plan to try some of the manual settings too.It ahould keep me busy.My hope is that it will give me slightly shaper pictures on average than my Canon S2 IS and maybe be a smidge better in lower lighting. One plus is that it can take a teleconverter lens if I want to try that.

Harold-I've been cursed by the jingle to a discount funiture store
lately.

Hi Larry, sounds like great birding, despite the earworm (just got a nice pic of an earwig yesterday ) Very nice pictures.

...and as a young bird flies, on a cold and gray Groton morn, another little baby bird is born in the meadow...

...and its parents name it ELVIS!

Nice shots! Great sense of humor. Sorry about your camera.

I wonder if Elvis would have been interested in birding? Probably would have a problem getting up early in the morning with all those late night concerts.

Aha, you made it to Bluff Point. Glad you did. Probably the largest natural stretch of shoreline property in the state.
it's funny, when i first arrived there, I was really disappointed because all I could see was the airport, warehouses etc.
Once I walked out a ways, I was really impressed.

GREAT yellow warbler shot. And yes, I get songs stuck in my head too, but with a toddler at home, they are mostly children's tunes. They tend to be sung off key and repeated a hundred times throughout the day :)
