Songbird Lyrics Game

Name the song that the lyrics belong to and/or an artist who performed it.

Let us know which ones you knew, even if it has already been answered.
Blue=Unanswered Grey=incomplete Black=already answered

1)Set them free at the break of dawn-'Til one by one, they were gone-

2)I'll wait in this place-where the sun never shines!-Waiting this place-where the shadows run from themselves!

3)You saw me standing alone.-Without a dream in my heart-Without a love of my own-

4)And in the streets- the children screamed,-The lovers cried,- and the poets dreamed.

5)Home, to a new and a shiny place-Make our bed, and we'll say our grace-

6)Don’t come knockin’ around my door-Don’t wanna see your shadow no more-Coloured lights can hypnotize-Sparkle someone else’s eyes

7)Let music swell the breeze,- and ring from all the trees -sweet freedom's song

8)On the first part of the journey, I was looking at all the life.- There were plants and birds. -and rocks and things, -There was sand and hills and rings.

9)Sky rockets in flight-

10)He misses a step and cuts his hand, -but Showing nothing, he swoops like a song-She cries "Where have all Papa's heroes gone?"

11)A long, long time ago-On graduation day-You handed me your book-I signed this way:

12)I’m going to wichita-Far from this opera for evermore-I’m gonna work the straw-Make the sweat drip out of every pore-

13)Well, I guess I'll never see the light.-I get the blues most every night-

14)Let me tell you how it will be-There's one for you, nineteen for me-

15)Like a train that stops at every station-We all deal with trials and tribulations-Fear hangs the fellow that ties up his years-Entangled in yellow and cries all his tears-

I know none of these - although #3 sounds sort of familiar.

Laura-If I hit the right category of music would it help?-If so, give me am idea of what stuff you listen to that's somewhat popular-(other than celtic).
kgmon-great job!-Yes I do pick songs that I think the people playing will have a chance at.-I usually throw in a few more recent ones, or hard rock in case others join in.
Lynne-looks like kgmom can give you a battle-wonder where ruthiej is?
